Monday 3/22/10 The Moonlight Man By Betty Ren Wright Pages 48 to 69
Quote: The words were no sooner out of my mouth than the birds stopped singing. Reaction: Jenny and Allie were freaking out, because they thought it was the moonlight man. Jenny kept on thinking positive and saying that it wasn't the moonlight man it was some kind of owl or something that might have scared the bird off. I think it is good to think positive but I also think it is good to face the facts. Tuesday 3/23/10 pages 70 to 94 Quote:There was a howl of pain from the basement, and the sawing stopped. Reaction:Since I read ahead Mr.Danner cut himself with the chainsaw right between his middle finger and index finger when he was trying to open the lock from the basement .Ouch that must of hurt really bad because Jenny said Mr.Danner might even need stitches! Wednesday 3/24/10 pages 95 to118 Quote:I told her about the coffin-box, the wedding dress, the dried flowers. Reaction:Well this kind of spoils the fun of discovering what the quote means ( I read ahead)
Um I think that "Tate" must have been a woman, because the quote is very descriptive it describes the dress (for a woman), the coffin-box, and the dried up flowers the quote couldn't possibly be less specific.
Thursday 4/1/10 The Jungle Books By Rudyard Kipling pages 75 to 96 Quote:Of course it was not all done at once, for the seals are not very clever, and they need a long time to turn things over in their minds, but year after year more seals went away from Novastoshnah, and Lukannon, and the other nurseries, to the quiet, sheltered beaches where Kotick sits all the summer through, getting bigger and fatter and stronger each year, while the holluschickie play round him, in that sea where no man comes. Reaction:I think that this might have been a lifetime goal for Kotick, because he spent I think like 5 seasons to find the sea cows. Kotick had to find the sea cows because where the sea cows lived no man could hurt the rest of the seals who lived in Novastoshnah and Lukannon. So Kotick was the only seal who was willing to take the challenge to find a place where the people could not kill them. So all the seals moved from Novastoshnah and Lukannon.
Friday 4/2/10 pages 97 to 118
Quote:And then Teddy's mother picked him up from the dust and hugged him, crying that he had saved teddy from death, and Teddy's father said that he was a providence, and Teddy and Teddy looked on with big scared eyes Reaction: Well of course Rikki-Tikki-Tavi deserves a hug because he saved Teddy's life from the psycho Nag and Nagaina. And they both are trying to kill Teddy's parents but Rikki-Tikki-Tavi won't let that happen to them.

Thursday 4/8 The Jacket by Andrew Clements pg 1 to 30 Quote: Can I help it if we have a cleaning lady, and she's black and we're white? Reaction:That's true because Phil can't be racist just by having a black women work in his house; maybe she chose to work there.i think that Daniel just took it the wrong way. Pages 31 to 56 Quote: It has to be because Dad is ...prejudice like me. Reaction:Okay this is where I go back to my last quote. So Phil's mom isn't prejudice it's his dad!
Friday 4/9 pages 57 to 70 Quote: And again Phil could hear something in the tone of his dad's voice. Reaction: Wow that is rude because Lucy says hi to Phil's dad in a polite tone and he just disrespects her by not even looking at her and just saying hi in a rude tone. I can't believe the example this guy is setting for his son....Sheesh!!
Saturday 4/10 pages 71 to 89(end) Quote: And Phil had seen TV shows like The Cosby Show and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where black people lived in houses a lot fancier than his-even fancier than grandma Morcone's condo. Reaction:2 sentences after the quote Phil says that he never knew that black people could live in a house like that. So I think at first Phil had low expectations of black people. At the same time I'm saying that remember that they are just both shows but in real life some of them do have nice house like that too!
Sunday 4/11 Flying Solo by Ralph Fletcher pages 1 to 20 Quote: Your father father said it is as if your voice died along with the poor boy. Reaction: I don't get it because at first Rachel said that Tommy was very annoying and now she grief for him - for not liking him.
